Kaaranjji '10-article by Satish.N St. Joseph's Evening College's (SJEC) Kannada Sangha has organized state level Kaaranjji ‘10 on 7 th March 2010, which was inaugurated by Sandalwood Actress Amoolya, Fr. Prashanth Madtha, principal of SJEC was the chief guest, Prof. Mathew, HOD Kannada, SJEC, Mr. Thyagaraj, Co-coordinator, Kannada Sangha, Ms. Jyothipriya, Secretary- Kannada Sangha 2010, Mr. Suha, Vice-Secretary- Kannada Sangha 2010, Mr. Shivakumar Reddy, Treasurer- Kannada Sangha 2010, were presided the programme. Actress Amoolya spoke about the college cultural programme and its importance, and whished all the participants, Fr. Prashanth Madtha, Prof. Mathew, Mr. Thayagaraj, Ms. Jyothipriya, and Mr. Suhas welcomed all the guests and audience. Kaaranjji was started late in ‘90s, since then SJEC Kannada Sangha has organizing many programmes. Kaaranjji was previously restricted only for Bengalooru city colleges from past two years it is inviting many colleges from outside the Bengalooru City . This success made this year too conduct Kaaranjji to conduct in state level. Kaaranjji '10 was started after lightning the lamp by Actress Amoolya, followed by Fr. Prashanth Madtha, Prof. Mathew, Mr. Thyagaraj and other representatives of Kannada Sangha. The programme started with devotional songs of Lord Ganesha. Later the events begun, nearly eight events has been organized, Bhaavageethe, Folk songs, Quiz, Vaachana Gayana, Debate, Street play, Food competition, Folk and Cinema group dance. Nearly 35 colleges participated in the event including St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, Navodaya College, Tumkur, Acharya Institute of Management, Bengalooru, Sheshadripuram College , Bengalooru, Vasavi Engineering College , Bengalooru, Jyothi Nivas College , Bengalooru, SSMRV College , Bengalooru, BES College , Bengalooru and other Bengalooru city colleges actively participated in the events. Folk group dance brought the village environment on the stage, which almost all colleges did. Cinema group dance too took audience to the world of enjoyment. The prize breakup is as follows:
