Movie :Varasdhara [2008] Vaarasdara -Review
When the entire world is grappling with how to effectively combat terrorism, director Guru Deshpande provides a simple solution: Use the underworld to fight the terrorists. Vaarasdara, which begins with newspaper clippings of terror activities in the US , London , Iraq , Pakistan . Indonesia and India , initially suggests that terrorism is its main theme but soon the plot loses momentum and confuses the viewer. He main character Shakti Prasad (Ravi Belegere) who portrays an underworld don is also a man of the masses. Midway through the movie, terrorists enter the city for destruction and the policy seek the help of Prasa to end their activities. A meeting with around 10 underworld dons is convened by Prasad. Before long however, all these dons disappear the Prasad is left waging a lonely battle. In the meantime, enter another protagonist: Dhaksha(Sandeep), son of Prasad comes to Bangalore , after a few romantic songs with the heroine Inchara(Ashwini). Dhaksha, who parted ways with his father following a misunderstanding, rejoins him and becomes the Varasdara(legal heir) of Prasad. Dhaksha starts fighting the terrorists after his father's death. There is nothing hugely exciting about the movie's plot or treatment, and as for its central conceit, what to say: It's not just silly but dangerous to glamorize the underworld as something that can be used to fight terrorism.
